Visual Voice
In this 5-week course, your creative spirit will move from feeling stuck and repressed to fully expressed and nourished by a hands-on social art practice rooted in Art History, self-development, and group coaching.
For You If
⦁ You have creative desires, but they always get sidelined by professional life.
⦁ You struggle with consistency and are seeking a place to cultivate a creative practice that aligns with you personally and professionally.
⦁ You have an idea of where you’re headed, but your vision feels foggy—and you crave support to clarify the path forward.
NICOLE RIVERS
I have not been as active in my art practice as I would like. I had a lot of shame and fear around creating art because of the lapse of time— believing that old adage about losing what one does not use.
During this course I discovered that there was no truth in that belief system for me. My ability to create is innate.
The course gave me more confidence in myself as a creator.
SOPHIA K.
It helped me access a core part of myself I hadn’t touched in almost 40 years, and inspired collages that feel like visual poetry.
Doing this in a supportive, welcoming community—where everyone’s creativity inspired one another—was incredibly special.
This course gave me the space to rediscover who I am—visually—outside of work mode.
ANN OLUGBILE
It gave me a safe, soft place to be me and reconnect with my essence. I embraced a part of me that thinks in pictures and symbolism. And that felt deeply affirming.
It's rare to find a space that prioritizes well-being and individuality over perfection. It's freeing, non-competitive, and a space for everyone to be honored and celebrated exactly where they were at.
The Visual Voice collage course came at exactly the right time for me. I was feeling stuck in a creative slump at work.

Michaela's Story
I’m proud to be an artist
For a long time, my identity as an artist lived behind the scenes of my professional life.
Perhaps you recognize the pattern: prioritizing the needs of others over one's own desires. Blocked by societal expectations, and performing in professional spaces.
I suppressed my creative power for years, but even then, my artistry found ways to surface through dinner parties and presentations that were basically design projects.
In 2020, I decided it was time to shift.
I chose to unmask and let my creativity take up more space. It’s taken consistent effort, and it’s been the most meaningful thing I’ve done for myself.
If you’ve been feeling called to come home to yourself—to give yourself permission to prioritize play—I hope you’ll join me.
Let’s get to know each other.

As we witness cycles of suffering and separation, many are seeking ways to integrate self and soul, to develop deeper relationships with one another and Mother Earth. We are at a threshold.
This installment of Visual Voice explores how Black artists have used creative practice to reimagine history, release grief, and transform pain into possibility.
Through collage, creative writing, and the study of Kerry James Marshall, Betye Saar, and Kara Walker, participants are invited into a space of self-inquiry through a Black diasporic lens. Together, we’ll use art as a tool to honor what’s been lost and imagine what comes next.
